The band of the week is Bella Lea
Is depressed indie music your thing? then so will be your band. No hard chords, but it does have that sort of metal-y feel to it, but it's not overpowering. And the music is always good, As the singer/songwriter, Maura Davis, was trained on classical music. Oh, and did I mention her voice kicks ass? yeah. The other members are Stephen Howard, Matt Clark, and Ryan Rapsys. their myspace
includes tour places and dates, and three demo songs. Let's kick it.
Dear Vanity
Music of the post-hardcore variety, Dear Vanity has a little something for everyone. This is the music you listen too if you like Denali or Death Cab for Cutie. Local to the Washington D.C. area, Dear Vanity has been together for years, and they have put out three separate allbums- all under obscure indie labels of course. I found them while surfing myspace- while I can listen to the music, I have been unable to successfully download any of their music. but perhaps you will be luckier.

Led By Last
Led by Last happens to be a local band in my Neighborhood of Bettendorf/Davenport, Iowa. I learned of them when our Guitarist, Chasity, slipped me a mini-flyer announcing the bands websites. this is a emo/rock/punk/porock band, and quite frankly, I am hooked.
Death Cab for Cutie
yes, yes, I know- I am only supposed to put bands here that haven't been 'discovered'. While they May not be in their hamburger days, Death Cab for Cutie truly deserves this award. their style is indie-emo-fusion. Wonderfully haunting and melodic, these melancholly masterpeices will have you singing in the shower for years to come.

Denali

I guarentee you, if there is one band that truly deserve's an 'awesome' award, it is Denali. there new album, The Instinct, is absolutely breathtaking. I am planning on purchasing this one off insound. The song 'hold your breath' has the perfect mix of vocals, grand chord changes, and the drums rock. It comes out with the verse, which is very grunge-exco, than the chorus, which changes to melancholy refinement. by the time you get to the bridge, you are sold. Pure Gold! This is by far my fave band. categoRy: Emo, Indie, rock, grunge

Mest
Made up of 4 boys singing punk-rock type music. Blaze actually gave me the name. Good for people who like current P.O.D. , Phantom Planet, and others of hard punk-rock.

Lillix
Lillix is an all girl po-punk band. Even though their hit single 'its about time' is a really annoying song, a lot of there other tracks really rock, and the girls in this band refuse to fall for stereo-types. Like their self-inflicted no diets rule after there label pressured them into going to a body retreat (aka fat camp), even though they're only eights! This band has also gone vegen, more out of health reasons than animal rights protest. check em out at www.lillix.com
Audioslave
Audioslave is totally depressed punk-rock. My cousin actually turned me on to them, as strange as it sounds because his favourite store is hottopic. but I think they are absolutely awesome! on their website, you can stream some of there music videos, and find their tour dates and autobiographies.
Fan site:
Michelle Branch.
Some say Michelle is Pop. some say she is rock. well, I personally say she is both. The reason she is on this site is because she is not pretending to be something she is not, and all her songs are original & heartfelt. She is definantly alternative. She has grown and matured from her first album The spirit room to her next album, hotel paper, and her first single,Are you happy now? Well, we sure hope she is happy for being featured on our site! best of luck, Michelle!
